Tomoko Ohno joins Bassist Hal Slapin and Drummer John Vourtsis for this week’s session of The Tuesday Jazz Series.
Tomoko, a distinguished pianist in New York City’s jazz community and a valued member of our music family here in Madison, brings her extraordinary talent to the stage. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, she began playing piano during her teenage years. She proudly performs with Sherrie Maricle’s Diva Jazz Orchestra and has graced venues like Lincoln Center, Weill Recital, Carnegie Hall, The Blue Note, Birdland, and more. Tomoko has shared the stage or recorded with legends such as Slide Hampton, Claudio Roditi, James Spaulding, Rufus Reid, The John Lee Quartet, and The Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band. Additionally, she has released several albums as a leader across Japan, the U.S., and Argentina.
Enjoy Happy Hour from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM with half-price beers, select wines, and appetizers. Special Guest Rich Court on solo piano. He’ll play standards, Beatles tunes, and more starting at 5:30 PM.
The doors open at 4:30 PM. There is a $5 entertainment fee and a $25 minimum for food and drinks per person. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled set time, and reservations are highly encouraged.
