Leonieke joins bassist Hal Slapin and Drummer John Vourtsis for this week’s session of The Tuesday Jazz Series.
When Leonieke was only 10, a video of her playing piano caught the attention of jazz legend Dr. Lonnie Smith, who gave her a Hammond organ in response. At the age of 13, she won the title of “Best Up and Coming Young Artist” at the Hot House Fan Decision Awards. With honors such as the Governor’s Award for “Exceptional Promise in Music” and two International Women in Jazz awards, Leonieke is also a TEDx speaker. Her debut album, “Debut,” was produced by the distinguished engineer Rudy van Gelder and includes performances by NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Cobb.
Enjoy Happy Hour from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM with half-price beers, select wines, and appetizers. Special Guest Rich Court on solo piano. He’ll play standards, Beatles tunes, and more starting at 5:30 PM.
The doors open at 4:30 PM. There is a $5 entertainment fee and a $25 minimum for food and drinks per person. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled set time, and reservations are highly encouraged.
