Guitarist Leo Jordan left us much too soon a few months ago. Leo was not only a versatile guitarist, educator and composer but he was a founding member of the Deep Groove Jazz Trio, maintained a decades long collaboration with Bluesman Carlos Colina and played for years in various genres including Jazz, Blues, Rock and Funk. Join us on March 11th at Shanghai Jazz in Madison, NJ for a “Celebration of Leo’s Life in Jazz” co-hosted by The Deep Groove Trio with Leonieke/Hammond Organ, Derick Campos/Guitar, John Vourtsis/Drums and Leo’s lifelong friend, Bill Clark/Guitar. The evening will also feature Carlos Colina and Straight Up Blues with whom Leo played for over 10 years. Also performing this evening in Leo’s honor will be Nick Scheuble/Drums, Jerry Vezza/Piano, Hal Slapin/Bass, Rich Court/Piano, Glenn Govier/Bass, Fred Lind/Keyboards, Anton Denner/Sax and Mike Kaplan/Sax. Join Leo’s musical friends, family and bandmates for a truly memorable evening. The public is welcome for a great night of music. Reservations: 973.822.2899
