BLUES People is a blues band rooted in NY/NJ, including…KELTON COOPER (vocals/guitar), MIKE GRIOT (bass), RON THOMPSON (keys), and GENE LAKE (drums). Their style has been compared to the Meters, Luther Allison, Keb Mo’, and Buddy Guy. They independently launched their 2024 debut album, “The Skin I’m In,” which was nominated for Best New Artist Debut Album by BLUES BLAST MAGAZINE!

These experienced artists have undoubtedly paid their dues. Individually, they’ve shared the stage with an impressive group of renowned touring acts such as Sue Foley, Josh Smith, Kool & the Gang, Ruf’s Blues Caravan, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Bo Diddley, Jr., and Michael Hill’s Blues Mob… just to name a select few. We’re overjoyed to have them back at Shanghai Jazz and invite you to join us!
