This week, join us as we celebrate Shanghai Jazz’s Second Anniversary of its “Tuesday Jazz Series!” Bassist Hal Slapin and Drummer John Vourtsis welcome Madison’s own Jerry Vezza on Piano and special guest Bob Hanlon on Sax. Jerry not only debuted live music at Shanghai Jazz 30 years ago but also launched our Tuesday Jazz Series 2 years ago. He’s a musician who embodies the classic jazz values of melodic warmth, rhythmic subtlety and true elegance. Jazz critic Zan Stewart of the Star Ledger wrote that “Vezza sings with his hands” and “plays resplendent jazz piano.”

Sax player Bob Hanlon has had a decades long career of recording and touring the world and is a Shanghai Jazz regular. He performs monthly with Jerry, Hal and John in the Tuesday Jazz Series.
