Leonieke A recipient of the Governor’s Award for “Exceptional Promise in Music” as well as two International Women in Jazz awards, Leonieke is also a TEDx speaker. She recently headlined for the US at the 2025 Worlds Fair in Osaka Japan. Her first of two CDs, “Debut” was recorded by renowned engineer, Rudy van Gelder and features NEA Jazz Master, Jimmy Cobb. In July, 2022 Leonieke signed an agreement with the Hammond Organ Company and became a “Hammond Artist”.
Guitarist Derick Campos is also a vocalist, composer and educator. At 13, he went to Croatia where he met a street performer playing Brazilian music. As the people danced and sang, Derick knew that he needed to spread happiness through music. While with the renowned Jazz House Kids program, he studied with Bruce Williams and Oscar Perez. His inclination towards his Brazilian roots led him to study with Toninho Horta, who guided his journey as a composer.
John Vourtsis, a multi-instrumentalist is a Shanghai Jazz regular, drumming with Jerry Vezza, Tomoko Ohno, Leonieke, Ed Laub, Grover Kemble, George Naha and Bob Himmelberger, among others. John is a fixture with the Tuesday Jazz Trio Series at Shanghai Jazz.
Doors open at 4:30 for Happy Hour. Performance begins at 7:00 with $5 Entertainment Fee and $25 food & drink minimum per person. Reservations strongly recommended
