Tonight, The John Bianculli Trio with John/Piano, Sue Williams/Bass and Tom Baker/Drums. Pianist, composer and educator, John Bianculli brings his lyrical, soulful sound and creative arrangements to Shanghai Jazz. You’ll hear a unique blend of Jazz, Latin, R&B, Brazilian, and World Music.

Acoustic and electric bassist Sue Williams is a New York City based freelance musician who has performed with Eric Clapton, Steve Cropper, Joe Walsh, Eddie Brigati, Bernard Purdie, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Williams, Darlene Love, Ben E. King, Robert Palmer, South Side Jonny and The Asbury Jukes, Phoebe Snow, Milt Hinton Bass Quartet, Cab Calloway’s Swing Orchestra, and many others. Sue’s performances include jazz trios, Broadway shows, blues and rock clubs, and recording studio work. As a Broadway pit musician, Sue has played in numerous Broadway shows including Mr Saturday Night starring Billy Crystal,  Little Shop of Horrors and Jersey Boys.

Tom Baker is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
He has been working as a free-lance performer and educator in the New York area since 1978.

As a member of the Bill Molenhof Trio, Tom recorded extensively in Germany and performed concerts and clinics at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The trio was also featured at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the International Association of Jazz Educators annual convention, and the International Percussion Festival, Opole, Poland.

Tom has performed and recorded numerous times in Japan, and was featured at concerts and jazz clubs in Tokyo, Nara, Osaka, and Hokkaido. Other performances include the American Festival, Cairo, Egypt.

Doors open at 4:30 and the first seating ends at 6:15 for a performance at 7:00, second seating begins at 8:35 for the 9:15performance. $40 food & drink minimum per person. $10 music charge per guest. Reservations strongly recommended.
