Acoustic and electric bassist Calvin Jones was born in North Carolina and is a graduate of the University of Miami, FL (BM). His recording resume numbers over 50 CD’s and he has toured and performed with Ray Anderson, Patti Austin, Don Braden, Cecil Brooks, Tom Brown, Alex Bugnon, Donald Byrd, Steve Coleman, Carla Cook, Ted Curson, Chico Freeman, Darrell Grant, Craig Harris, Jon Hendricks, Andrew Hill, Javon Jackson, Angela Johnson, Ronny Jordan, Eartha Kitt, Dave Koz, Les McCann, Greg Osby, Max Roach, Pharoah Sanders, James “Blood” Ulmer, Emeline Michel, Johannes Mössinger, Cassandra Wilson and The World Saxophone Quartet to name a few.
Mr. Jones has performed on Broadway with “Bring ‘N Da Noise, Bring ‘N Da Funk (including the first national tour), “Aint Nothin’ But The Blues”, “All Shook Up”, “The Janis Joplin Show” and “Jagged Little Pill”. He also did the first national tour of “Hadestown.” He plays fretted and fretless 4, 5 and 6 string basses and along with playing double bass also performs on 5 string acoustic bass guitar.
Wincey Terry-Bryant, is an international recording artist and NJ native. Wincey has worked with music industry giants such as Sting, Tina Turner, & Tom Jones. Featured vocalist on the hit single “It’s A Shame”, Wincey’s voice can also be heard on the famed children’s series “Sesame Street.”Some ofher television credits include “Soul Train,” & “The Cosby Show. Wincey is a resident teaching artist for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, presenter of assembly programs for Arts Horizons, master professional development trainer for National Wolf Trap Early Childhood Education, CEO of Winceyco LLC, Executive Director of NanaBabies Non-profit organization, arts director of the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and author and producer of inspirational music projects, educational CDs, DVDs, and childrens’ books. Doors open at 4:00 for a special 1 hour Holiday Performance with Jerry Vezza, Alex Laurenzi, John Vourtsis, & Hal Slapin. This is a wonderful tradition to kick off the Christmas Season and raise money for the Madison Arts and Cultural Alliance. No reservations are taken for this performance.
Seating times for The Calvin Jones & Wincey Terry Band are 5:30-6:15 and 8:35-8:45. Respective performances begin at 7:00 and 9:05 with $10 Entertainment Fee and $40 food & drink minimum per person. Reservations strongly recommended.
